It is a global movement that strives to strengthen existing efforts and networks for preventing and overcoming violence, as well as inspire the creation of new ones.

Reconcile International was established in August, 2003 as an affiliate church organization by the New Sudan Council of Churches (NSCC) in an endeavor to mitigate conflicts between communities and tribes in New Sudan due to civil war, tribal wars, and numerous human rights violations. Through its various programmes, Reconcile promotes, and provides training for, conflict transformation (including issues of psychosocial rehabilitation, trauma awareness and reconciliation, democratization and good governance), and promotes interfaith dialogue.
